Day 1             


Airport/ Sigiriya

 

Arrival & proceed to Dambulla/Sigiriya

Afternoon

Visit Dambulla rock temple 1st century BC also called as the Golden rock temple. Overnight stay at hotel.

 

 

Day 2

Anuradhapura/Sigiriya

 

After breakfast leave for Anuradhapura & visit the countries oldest city dated back to 5th century BC covered by vegetation.
Discover the ancient ruins, beautiful man made lakes, Monkeys and birds.  

Afternoon       

Climb Sigiriya, 5th century AC Lions Rock, world famous for its historical frescoes, and for its wonderful water gardens.
Sigirya today is one of the world heritage sites. Also is considered to be the 8th wonder of the world.
Return to the hotel for overnght.

 

 

Day 3         

Polonnaruwa/Wild elephants

 

After breakfast leave for Polonnaruwa to visit the medieval capital of the country well known for its rock carved Buddha statues Known
as Gal vihara and visit the old  temples which are marvelous examples of Buddhist and Hindu culture.

Afternoon

Drive in the jungle by jeeps to see the wild elephants at Minneriya or
Kaudulla park.
Return to the hotel

 

 

Day 4   

Matale/Kandy

 

After breakfast leave for Kandy en-route visit a spice garden with a local cookery demonstration where you could enjoy the
taste and aroma of The World famous spices since the early days. Visit a Hindu Temple in Matale and arrive in Kandy.

Afternoon

Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic and witness a Sri Lankan traditional dance and proceed to the hotel.

 

 

Day 5    

Kandy/Nuwaraeliya

 

After breakfast visit the Kandy city and the Peradeniya Botanical gardens. Proceed to Nuwara-eliya, en- route visiting a tea
factory for a freshly brewed cup of tea
Arrive in Nuwara-eliya.

Day 6

Nuwaraeliya/Beach

 

Leave Nuwara-eliya after breakfast & proceed to a Beach Resort in the South or Negombo for relaxation. 
Arrive at the hotel late afternoon.

Airport/Negombo

 

Arrival and transfer to Negombo.

Afternoon

City tour of Negombo, known as the countries biggest Catholic town and
The largest fishing village of the western part of the island. Visit the fish market and other places of interest.
Return to hotel for overnight stay.

 

 

Day 2              

Negombo/Yapahuwa/Anuradhapura

 

Leave after breakfast for Anuradhapura, en-route visit the ruins of Yapahuwa an ancient monastery.

Afternoon

Visit the countries oldest city, Anuradhapura dating back to the
5th Century BC, covered by vegetation. Discover the ancient ruins, beautiful man made lakes, Monkeys and birds.  
Overnight in Anuradhapura.

 

 

Day 3              

Anuradhapura/Mihintale/Sigiriya

 

Leave after breakfast for Mihintale, the place where Buddhism was introduced to the country.  Climb the 1880 steps and see
the ruins of The 3rd century BC. The full moon in the month of June is called Poson, which commemorates the introduction of
Buddhism to Sri Lanka.

Afternoon

Climb Sigiriya, 5th century AC Lion Rock. World famous for its historical frescoes, and wonderful water gardens.
Sigiriya today is one of the world heritage sites, also is considered to be the 8th wonder of the world. Proceed to the hotel for overnight.

 

 

Day 4              

Polonnaruwa/Medirigiriya/Elephant ride

 

After breakfast leave for Polonnaruwa to visit the medieval capital of the country well known for its rock carved Buddha statues known
As the Gal Viharaya and visit the old temples which are marvelous examples of Buddhist and Hindu culture.

Afternoon

Visit Medirigiriya magnificent circular building, built to house stone carved
Buddha statues belonging to the 8th centaury, which is similar to the
Statues found in Polonnaruwa .         
One-hour elephant ride across the village and in the jungle of Habarana.
Proceed to the hotel.

 

 

Day 5              

Dambulla/Matale/Kandy

 

After breakfast leave for Kandy en-route visit the Dambulla rock temple
1st Century BC also called as the Golden rock temple where you will discover some of the marvelous rock paintings of Sri Lankan history.
Nalanda Gedige, which is another hybrid of Buddhist and Hindu architecture.

Afternoon

Visit a spice garden in Matale with a local cookery demonstration where
You could enjoy the taste and aromas of the World famous spices since
Early days. Visit a Hindu temple in Matale.
Arrive in Kandy.

 

 

Day 6              

Kandy

 

Leave after breakfast on a city tour of Kandy, visit the city center, market area, Kandy museum & Botanical gardens

Afternoon

Day 7              

Kandy/Pinnawela/Nuwara-eliya

 

Leave after breakfast for Pinnawela to visit the unique elephant orphanage, which was created to protect little elephants
that were abandoned by their parents due to various reasons. Best time to visit the Orphanage is, the Time of feeding & bathing.

Afternoon  

Proceed to Nuwara-eliya by road, en-route visiting the world famous
Tea plantations & Waterfalls, Vegetable cultivation and the terraced
Paddy fields.
Apart from the number of photo stops do not forget to stop at a tea factory to enjoy a freshly brewed cup of tea.
Arrive In Nuwara-eliya late in the afternoon,
Walk around the city to discover the town with its colonial architecture beautiful
Parks and the city center, Return to the hotel

 

 

Day 8              

Nuwara-eliya/Yala or Udawalawa

 

Leave after breakfast to Udawalawa or Yala, arrive in time for a safari
by jeeps.
You will spend about 3 hours at one of the national park of your choice.

Day 9               

Yala or Udawalawa/Galle/Bentota Kalutara

 

Leave after breakfast towards Bentota or Kalutara en-route visiting
The city of Galle.

Polonnaruwa/ Elephant ride/ Sigiriya /Dambulla

wood carvings fond in the Embekka temple.

Bandarawela or Ella/Udawalawa or YALA

 

 

After breakfast proceed to Udawalawa or Yala. Arrive in time for a safari
by jeeps. You will spend about 3 hours in one of the national park of

Udawalawa or YALA/Galle
